Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a source provided evidence indicating Maxwell is working on the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for executive mercy.

The exact content of the clemency request are unclear, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for Maxwell and her visitors.

The visits allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The statement indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Other privileges allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative noted.

Context and Developments

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her former location.

In August, she was moved from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as the President's private attorney.

This questioning came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and called on the president to reject Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to the President.

Raskin asked whether Trump had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to provide her with the move or special conditions in detention, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, family or representatives have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by 24 November.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
